[To be honest, Atem's been slacking in training his Pokémon via battling, or really even catching new ones. He has his squad and he's been sticking to it. So what has our King of Games been doing in his free time ignoring the network for about a month?]
[The video feed opens to a board on some grass (which is next to the lake in Ecruteak City) with eighteen face down Pokémon TCG cards on it. Facing the board is a contemplative male Meowstic staring hard at the cards.]
[Atem clears his throat from behind the camera.] I heard once that psychic Pokémon need mental stimulation, so I've been training Obelisk with a memory game.
Obelisk, are you ready? [Atem sounds encouraging and definitely challenging his blue cat. Obelisk nods and then Atem's hand comes into view, posed in a thumbs-up.] Go!
[Cards start to glow as Obelisk uses psychic powers to flip them over in pairs. For seven pairs Obelisk gets them on the first try, but once left with the last two he fumbles and mismatches. The game went by quickly, he just got tangled up in his rushing. He's visibly frustrated.]
[Atem's hand comes back into view as he reaches over to pet Obelisk's head.] You did well, don't worry.
[The video feed stays put on Obelisk as Obelisk's powers are used to flip over and shuffle the cards again.] Obelisk has been favoring this game over battling since I introduced it to him. However, we've been using trading cards to play so I haven't had the time to learn the rules to the actual game. [Atem chuckles.] Obelisk doesn't like when I try to separate this memory deck. It's made of only Energy cards for now, but I'd like to introduce other card types for an extra challenge.
[There's a pause while Atem thinks. Obelisk has put all the cards into a pile and is staring past the camera at Atem expectantly.]
I've collected some games lately, but I was wondering what others have been playing.
[Seriously though, if you've seen Atem hanging out around Ecruteak City just chilling somewhere outside, he's been glued to freeware phone games. Meanwhile, in his shared apartment, he's amassed a small collection of board games.]
[ooc: mod answer on games in VR!]
