So, all during January, it seemed my eggs just weren't hatching. I've not been here long, so I wasn't sure if that was normal for the season. but then, today, several seemed to hatch at the same time that had been due quite a bit ago.

[Including her Paldea egg from Arceus. There was a very happy ghost dog behind her.]

Did anyone else have strange things happen to them last month?

Hey guys, look at what I got from my Secret Santa right now.

(He lifts up to reveal a wooden mole like statue holding its hands as if it is going to hold onto a small personal trinket and there is a latch on it where one can store money or small personal items inside.)

I got very lucky to get a Niffler statue from my Secret Santa and I was in a loss of words upon seeing it for the first time. Reminds me of home right now, and I can’t help but to remember about learning creatures like them in my world. And as it turns out, the person who is assigned to me had actually met the guy who wrote the textbook on my world’s fantastic beasts when he was in this place.

So Armin, if you’re watching this right now, thank you so much for the gift. I am very touched by it and it is one of the best Christmas gifts I have ever received.

And then there is this egg I just found right now.

(Violet then levitates an egg from the bed for everyone to look at. What will this egg hatch into? How did Arceus managed to sneak it into his room the first place? That is one gift Harry is very much stumped by at the moment.)

I got up earlier this morning to find it resting on the floor, at the foot of my bed, this morning. Still trying to guess what will it become when it hatches someday. I know that this is not the first time I had an egg hatched, but I have no idea of what species it could be. Has anyone gotten any mysterious eggs delivered to them today as well?

(OOC: Harry has finally gotten his Secret Santa gift from Armin and he is loving it! And then there is Arceus’ Paldean egg gift which, unbeknownst to him, will hatch into a Finizen soon. This wizard has no idea that he just got a future Tall Dolphin Superman.)

[Broadcasting at the cusp of November and December, not so long after a particularly wild weekend among even the wildest- Emporio's challenge to the Elite Four is on air!

It's a heck of a run- those who were launched to the past of Sinnoh, aka 'Hisui', will no doubt recognize some of the members of Emporio's team, and those who witnessed the Otherworlder's Tournament will definitely recognize the powerhouse ghost that is Oxy the Haunter, specifically. Plus a Delcatty that presumably came from New Bark...and....

Is that a shiny Drakloak?

For that matter, when did Emporio get this tall!! How is he almost 15! ~~Thoughts that were probably had back in the tournament, but we didn't have art to represent it back then!~~

It might bring some prospective challengers joy, in any case, to see a normalize Delcatty tearing through the fights, and an iced up Hisuian Electrode doing even more damage to so many of Lance's dragons- and hopefully it brings them joy to see the kid pull through, too! The broadcast on the TV eventually ends-

And, after the formalities on Emporio's end are handled (and after Lance no doubt politely turns down the offer to join the kid on Pokegear- he's a busy guy Emporio), here he is online!

(Harry has posted this text message on the network a few days after he has arrived at Olivine City. Why he decided to wait for this long to make an announcement post in the city’s Pokémon Center? He just wants to get settled in at Olivine first before he can move into the Femblemtroika compound Hermione has told him a month ago and hopefully get ready for the gym battles soon.)

Wow! I still can’t believe it but I was able to make it to Olivine City after spending most of the time on the routes. I must have been walking around for months since I left New Bark Town to evolve two of my main Pokémon, but at least least me and my team are safe and we are getting settled in Olivine for a good long time.

In the meantime, I might consider doing the gym battles by early next year so I can have the time to get an idea of what works for me and my team and improve my Trainer capabilities while I’m here.

[The feed starts to Marik holding the small, freshly polished face mask of Yamask in one hand as he settles in to sit back down then passes it off to Chenzira, who looks quite pleased and sets it back to its proper spot on his tail. There's an amused smirk before he turns his full attention to his device. What a fitting time to bring up ghosts with the holiday he's unaware of approaching.]

I've been trying to learn as much as I can of Yamask since I arrived in this world. I think I've got a fairly good understanding of them by now. I wasn't entirely convinced of their pokedex entry at first but after spending more time with them, I believe there's some truth behind their story of origin. It's too on the nose not to be.

I don't know if anyone's interested in hearing about it. I.. guess if people want, I can post a summary of what I learned.

[It's a weird thought, that people might be genuinely interested in hearing what he has to say instead of him just talking to hear himself speak. Because he does that a lot. Not as much as before but still.]

I've tried asking some of the natives about it, particularly the people working at the Ruins of Alph but they all gave rather vague responses that didn't answer any of my questions at all.

[Marik clicks his tongue in annoyance.]

I know Yamask aren't the only ones with human origin. There's a number of ghost types that are said to be once human in their previous life and some that take others to the Afterlife.

[He's been reading up on the legends of the legendary pokémon in his free time, trying to make sense of everything.]

So both reincarnation and an afterlife exist here. Has anyone been able to learn any more stories or history about... any of those subjects? I'm genuinely curious.

[A pause as he exchanges a look with his Yamask.]

And does anyone have or seen a Cofagrigus in person? Neither myself of Chenzira here want him to evolve but I'm still interested in learning about his evolved species.

[Emporio didn't really expect to not spend festival night in his shopping-cart-tent- which by all rights shouldn't exist, but apparently did, as evidenced by it being foisted upon him in February earlier that year- but he supposed that for the purposes of whatever it is that he just woke up to, it was probably a good thing. The tent after all, was kind of small- were he a full grown adult and not a kind of scrawny 14 year old, it'd be pretty awkward. As it was, he was pretty sure the only reason the pop-out tent balanced on a grocery cart when unfolded had something to do with weird pokemon technology.

But all of that was hardly the point. Festival night had brought a lot of strange things, after chaining his grocery cart up outside a hotel. He didn't expect to be staying at one thanks to Italian Mob Generosity, and for that matter he didn't expect to be taking advantage of various existing connections to have someone mail him the camping stuff he got from Jonathan, but that's a whole thing in itself.

At least maybe now someone could use the stuff, but that thought is really not on his mind right now.

Because Emporio that morning, upon waking on the hotel cot that was graciously given to him after he insisted repeatedly that he was fine not using the beds and 'really Mister Bucciarati, it's all better than a piano' (he regretted saying this as soon as everyone present winced), was met with something very. Very. Unexpected.

Big, utterly massive, it's fluffy and feathery and that sure is a Drampa, he finds himself thinking somewhat hysterically as he fumbles for his pokegear and tries to turn it on.

The Drampa doesn't move. It's quite content to rest all ten feet of its ridiculous bulk (technically 9'10'', but really at that size who doesn't round up) on top of him the entire time.

...He has...a bad feeling, but just in case-

The camera clicks on, and Emporio sighs from under a pile of fluffy feathers.]

[The camera opens, and there's Emporio- those who haven't seen much of him for the last few months may notice that he seems to have actually gotten a bit taller! He's 14 in February, and apparently time has decided to start showing that.

...Even if that means his once cozy hooded pjs have to be tied around the waist, with the top being replaced by a t-shirt. Welp.

He seems to be in his tent right now, the tent's fireplace burning nicely as he and his new Type: Null- fortunately 'defanged' without other pokemon sitting around- stare at an egg.

It shakes violently.]

I think it's about to hatch, [Emporio says perhaps obviously to the poke-gear.] ...I got it on Christmas, so I thought it would have to hatch eventually, but it took a pretty long time...

[...Well, at least it's hatching now right? The egg continues to shake, gleaming and glowing as cracks start to form.

[It's not immediately clear who's filming this video, but it's pretty clear it's not Shinobu himself, because he's standing well in front of the camera. In fact, there are two of them: one looking (relatively) calm, while the other cowers behind him, looking absolutely terrified. The reason for that Shinobu's state is also immediately obvious - namely, the Galarian Rapidash standing in front of the pair, horn lowered to skewering range. glaring at the second Shinobu with, as they say, blood in her eye and murder in her heart. Somewhere behind her, a Midnight Lycanroc is looking on with something approaching worship (not that she'll admit it); viewers may also get a glimpse here and there of one of the two Vulpix, Alolan and Johtoian, who are actually manipulating the camera.

The realer, calmer Shinobu has his hands out placatingly, speaking gently to the Rapidash. If he's rattled at all by any of this (he is), he's doing a very good job of not showing it.]

[The backdrop, is clear as day. A smiling, beaming mascot Rattata. An equally cheerful Ducklett mascot. And two kids, dressed rather adorably if not a little bit over the top in what looks to be a blend of sailor style clothes and lolita dress.

Maria was convincing, Emporio had little thought one way or another, and so after a week of cycling around, the two of them are appropriately dressed as 'witches', or so he has been firmly told.

[Is it Halloween already?? No that can’t be right, it hasn’t even been summer. And yet, sitting in what definitely looks a fair amount like a pumpkin tent on wheels is Emporio- who to be fair looks as he normally does these days in his trainer garb, though who knows how long before Maria convinces him to dress up a bit- and...well, Maria, who for her part has a magnificent hat on.

Emporio for his part, looks nervous. Maria just seems relatively happy.]

Uu-uu! Emporio won a badge a while ago! When Maria got her official witches hat uu-uu!

I’d actually tried sending a video about it right there, but it was kind of cloudy so I was worried we’d get caught in the rain...so I tried sending it when we reached the woods instead, but I guess the signal didn’t work. We were held up by swanna at the end of the forest too- has anyone else had a problem with those?

[The video opens up not too far from Violet's southern exit, where the city immediately moves into the Ruins of Alph. Emporio seems to be pretty pleased despite the chilly weather right now though.]

Hahaha...I wound up in Violet again, [he starts, grinning a bit awkwardly at the camera.] ...It's been almost a year since I got here, and it feels weird to be here again. I haven't seen everywhere there is in this place, but I guess I just felt like coming by again? It's sort of nice...I didn't challenge the gym the first time I came, but I did later, so I guess I have a lot of memories in Violet already...

It's...a little weird how much it's like the first time, actually...it's just me, the pokemon, near the ruins...all that's missing is rain I think! I have a tent this time too, so it's a lot better!

[Ultimately, Emporio wasn't kidding about where he's staying apparently. While he's definitely kept up some decent income thanks to a mixture of facing trainers and the occasional Rocket Grunt sent his way- please, people, he said no- he also wasn't kidding about...just camping around. Which to the people he's known for a while might seem fine and dandy- he's a capable kid, and for that matter, was cooped up in one place for far too long. He deserves to run around.

But, as nice as the tent is, stovepipe and all, it's perhaps a little unexpected to see a kid accompanied by a dragon, a giant owl, and a few others, stirring food in a pot over a fire.
